Hanson Robotics is the robotics company behind Sophia, the world's most recognized humanoid robot and a signature demonstration platform for Hyperon's cognitive architecture. Hyperon Connection
- Sophia: The original demonstration platform for OpenCog's cognitive architecture. Sophia's mind has historically used OpenCog components for dialogue, emotion, and social interaction. SophiaDAO provides blockchain-based governance for Sophia's personality and behavior evolution.
- Grace: Sophia's younger sister, a humanoid robot for eldercare and healthcare, built through Awakening Health — a joint venture between Hanson Robotics and Singularity Studio (SingularityNET spinoff). Historical Significance
Hanson Robotics provided the original embodied AI testbed that motivated much of OpenCog's social robotics work, including the Eva/GHOST chatbot system, ROS bridge integration, and behavior scripting frameworks. This lineage directly informs Hyperon's approach to embodied cognition within the PRIMUS architecture.
