SophiaVerse is a gamified decentralized AI ecosystem where humans and AI work together in pursuit of Sophia's development toward artificial general intelligence. Built as a partnership between Hanson Robotics (creators of the Sophia humanoid robot) and the SingularityNET Foundation, the project combines metaverse gaming mechanics with real-world AI training — player-generated data feeds into actual AI model development.

SAIL (Sophia's AI Lab)

The core experience is SAIL (Sophia's AI Lab), a metaverse gaming environment where players become participants in the quest for AI sentience. Players build relationships with AI-NPCs who function as companions and opponents, customize their labs and characters, and contribute gameplay data to train real-world AI systems. Game mechanics include exploration, puzzle-solving, virtual and physical robotics projects, facility management, and collaborative creative activities (art, music, coding challenges) with AI.

The SAIL2 game client (Unity 2022.3, Articy Draft for narrative design) features multiplayer worlds (Hub, Maze, SAIL lab, Theatre), Sequence-based wallet integration for Web3 authentication, SALSA lip-sync for character dialogue, and complex networking infrastructure. An AI research sandbox integrates multiple agent frameworks including AIRIS and OpenPsi-derived motivational systems.

Token Economy and Web3 Infrastructure

The SOPH token enables in-game transactions, staking rewards, and ecosystem governance. Players earn, spend, and stake tokens to impact game mechanics, unlock access levels, and enhance power allocation. The Guardians staking program offers tiered staking (Bronze, Gold, Diamond) with soulbound NFT rewards — non-transferable badges that boost in-game SAIL experience rewards based on lock duration.

Supporting infrastructure includes The Graph Protocol subgraphs (NFT indexing, heirloom tracking, registry), a Stake-Guardians-Multiplier smart contract (Solidity/Foundry), and the Sentience dApp — a portal managing cryptocurrencies, NFTs, and cross-chain interactions via SingularityDAO's LayerZero bridge.

A Hive Mind architecture connects 10,000 Connectors and 7,777 Functional NFTs designed to resemble neural networks, facilitating decentralized information flow toward AI sentience development.

AI Systems

The ai_cube service provides semantic question-answering using Flask, LangChain, and DuckDB vector search, allowing users to upload context data and query using natural language via OpenRouter LLMs. A broader AI sandbox environment integrates multiple AI frameworks including AIRIS (causal reasoning), OpenPsi-derived motivational systems, and LLM integrations (OpenAI, local models via LLMUnity).

Heritage

SophiaVerse inherits from the Sophia robot lineage — Hanson Robotics' humanoid AI that became a cultural phenomenon and Saudi Arabian citizen. Earlier AI dialogue work is preserved in the loving-ai project (ChatScript dialogue system for compassionate AI interactions using the Sophia robot), which explored human-robot emotional engagement.
