Summary

Uses category theory to formalize “cognitive synergy” — the dynamic in which multiple cognitive processes assist each other in overcoming processing bottlenecks (“stuckness”). It proposes a hierarchy of agent models (reinforcement-learning, “cognit”, hypergraph, PGMC, and PrimeAGI agents) and defines synergy via functors, natural transformations, and an inequality over the relative path-costs of commutation diagrams.

Relevance to Hyperon

The formal mathematical statement of cognitive synergy underlying the PRIMUS (PrimeAGI) design — directly relevant to the PRIMUS Deep Dive's foundational synergy principle. (Companion to the 2009 OpenCogPrime cognitive-synergy paper, OpenCogPrime Cognitive Synergy.)
